A Major Shift in Wellcome Trust Funding

The Wellcome Trust has announced a major change of funding strategy
starting autumn 2010; it will replace response mode funding (project,
programme grants and some others) with the Investigator Awards or Senior
Investigator Awards, thus providing longer-term (up to 7 years) funding
focused on individual researchers and their ideas rather than on
specific research projects.
