Hello,

Our paper on Hmel2 is now published in G3:

http://g3journal.org/content/early/2016/01/12/g3.115.023655

If you use Hmel2, please cite this paper as well as the original genome
paper.

A few of us in Cambridge are continuing to work on the genome sequence
based on new linkage maps for melpomene and cydno and other data; we may
also be generating more PacBio data for melpomene and cydno. However, we
have no concrete plans to release a new version of H. melpomene or to
produce a draft cydno genome at present; it will depend on who is
available to work on the assemblies and what we need for existing projects.

Having said that, we are happy to discuss further improvements to the
genome with everyone and share data with those who are interested. We’d
also encourage those interested in improving the genome to keep in touch
so we can work together to fix errors and make changes. Please let us
know if you’d like to help out with this.

Thanks
John
