Hi Everyone

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have set up the
heliconius.org site as a blog - which basically means anyone can sign
up and make posts. We can use the site to keep up to date on progress
in the genome sequencing project, make pages describing aspects of
Heliconius biology, publish press releases about novel research, or
describing your own particular research or area, or publish a factoid
of natural history - whatever you like!

As some of us discussed recently, it would also be great to produce
materials that can be used by teachers for evolution lessons, or
whatever.

I am rather new to the software, but I think how it will work is that
you should sign up on the site (there is a register button), and then
I will need to upgrade you to Author status in order for you to be
able to publish a post. I would also point out that there is a
difference between pages (permanent resources available from the drop
down menus) and posts (which are published on a particular date and
can be linked together like a conversation) - if you want to write
pages rather than posts, then let me know.

Anyway, I hope this will stimulate some community involvement in the
web site!

Cheers
Chris
