DARWIN INITIATIVE CALL FOR FUNDING APPLICATIONS FOR SCOPING AND FELLOWSHIP FUNDING SCHEMES 2009
The Darwin Initiative seeks to help safeguard the world's biodiversity by drawing on UK biodiversity expertise to work with local partners in countries that are rich in biodiversity but poor in financial resources. Since its launch at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio, the programme has already committed over £65 million to more than 600 biodiversity projects in nearly 150 countries.
Defra is now inviting applications from UK institutions and organisations for Scoping and Fellowship funding to commence from July 2009. The guidance notes for applicants and application forms are available on the Darwin website at http://darwin.defra.gov.uk <http://darwin.defra.gov.uk/> . If you have difficulty accessing the information and forms please contact ECTF. The documents are also available in large print on request.
The closing date for applications is Friday 20 February 2009. Defra expects to announce the successful applicants towards the end of April 2009.
Further information on the Darwin Initiative, including lists of projects funded in previous rounds, and copies of project documents can also be found on our website.
If you no longer wish to receive details of the Darwin Initiative, or if this email was incorrectly addressed, please let us know.
Buena suerte a todos!
Blanca
