Deadline: 7 December 2015

Applications for the 2016 Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) Conservation Team Awards are now open! CLP aims to advance biodiversity conservation globally by building the leadership capabilities of early-career conservation professionals working in high-priority places with limited capacity to address conservation issues. This partnership initiative, including BirdLife International, Fauna & Flora International and the Wildlife Conservation Society, has been helping young conservationists across the world achieve their goals for 30 years. The programme works toward its aims by offering awards, training and mentoring support. CLP offers three levels of Conservation Awards:

  * Future Conservationist Awards<http://maildogmanager.com/link.html?url=656&client=bpcp&campaign=223&email=blancahuertas@yahoo.com>: Up to $12,500 per project
  * Conservation Follow-Up Awards<http://maildogmanager.com/link.html?url=653&client=bpcp&campaign=223&email=blancahuertas@yahoo.com>: Up to $20,000 per project (available only to previous CLP Future Conservationist Award winners)
  * Conservation Leadership Awards<http://maildogmanager.com/link.html?url=654&client=bpcp&campaign=223&email=blancahuertas@yahoo.com>: Up to $40,000 per project (available only to previous CLP Follow-Up Award winners)

In 2016 CLP will only accept proposals for projects to be implemented in the following 22 countries: Algeria, Angola, Azerbaijan, Brazil, China, Egypt, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Mozambique, Oman, South Africa, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

The application deadline for ALL award types is 7 December 2015.

Those applying for a Conservation Follow-Up and Conservation Leadership Award must submit a Logical Framework and the Final Report of their previous CLP project to CLP by 26 October 2015. If the Logical Framework and Final Report are satisfactory, the team will be invited to submit a full proposal by the 7 December deadline. Teams will be notified of this invitation by 30 October 2015.

Please visit the CLP website (www.conservationleadershipprogramme.org<http://maildogmanager.com/link.html?url=371&client=bpcp&campaign=223&email=blancahuertas@yahoo.com>) for detailed eligibility criteria, guidelines and application form. Awards will be announced in April 2016.

Successful applicants will: 1.) Develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of team members; 2.) Implement a focused, high-priority conservation project combining research and action; and 3.) Contribute to the long-term success of local conservation efforts. Applicants can request feedback on their proposals from CLP Alumni Ambassadors in their region prior to submission. More information on Alumni Ambassadors can be found on the CLP website. Applicants may also contact a member of the CLP team up to two weeks before the application deadline for advice on project eligibility, methods and project activities; CLP teams are strongly encouraged to solicit advice early. CLP may be able to put teams in touch with local partner offices or other experts who can provide additional advice.

Have additional questions or seeking advice? Email clp en birdlife.org<javascript:return> for more information. Please forward this announcement to other potentially interested individuals, organisations or academic institutions.
