There is a new version of neuroConstruct (v1.2.0) available for
download. The full release notes are <a
href="http://www.physiol.ucl.ac.uk/research/silver_a/nCinfo/RELEASE_NOTES">here</a>,
but the main points are:<br>
<br>
- Libraries for Java 3D, Jython and HDF5 have been added to the
standard distribution, making the download size larger, but meaning
that no extra packages need be installed to use these with
neuroConstruct. <br>
<br>
- Renamed run.bat/run.sh to nC.bat/nC.sh and increased checks for
32/64 bit and win/linux to use correct libraries<br>
<br>
- Large networks in NEURON are more efficient/faster to load due to
use of arrays of synapse objects as opposed to naming each individually
and a number of optimisations have been added for random network
connections, to speed up generation of networks including conditions
such as uniqueness of post synaptic cells <br>
<br>
A number of other features have been updated along with some extra
warning messages.<br>
<br>
Please let me know if there are any problems getting it installed, or
if there are any issues running existing projects.<br>
